Our Our Lady of the Snow Scholarship is one of our proudest traditions. Founded in 1888, our organization sought to support newly arrived immigrants from Sanza as they adjusted to life in their new home. Supporting the youth of the community was of the utmost importance to our founders. They wanted to encourage young people to achieve all they can achieve with a strong connection to community, faith, and our shared culture.

This year's scholarships are given in conjunction with a grant from the Robertson Foundation.

This year, we are excited to honor and celebrate three young adults as they embark on their journey of higher-learning. We awarded the three $1,000 scholarships on the morning of August 5th, 2025:

Giuliana M. D'Onofrio

A member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Giuliana is the third generation in her family to be members of the organization. She is a graduate from Archbishop Molloy High School. Giulianna was a member of the Varsity Lacrosse team and the National Honors Society. This fall, she will be attending Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia where she will be studying Occupational Therapy with the aspiration of becoming a pediatric occupational therapist, as she has always felt it was important to work with and support children.

Luciano J. Iodice

A graduate from Coral Gables Senior High School, Luciano is excited to be heading to University of Miami to study Motion Picture Production. Despite growing up in Miami, Luciano has always felt deeply connceted to his Sanzese roots and to the Brooklyn Our Lady of the Snow community, joining the Major Society last year.

Elizabeth A. LaCorte

A 5th Generation member of Our Lady of the Snow Society, Elizabeth graduated from John Glenn High School with both a NY Regents Diploma and a diploma in Cosmetology. She won Locals, Regionals and went to States representing her Cosmetology School. She won the Renasance Award all four quarters of the school year. Lizzie will be attending Farmingdale State College in September to pursue a career as a Sonogram Technician.
